Employer’s N.I. Contribution exemption

This scheme, alongside other measures, supports the employment of persons with disabilities by exempting employers from paying their part of the National Insurance Contribution (N.I.C.), facilitating the integration of persons with a disability into the workforce.

Scheme Benefits

The core philosophy of this initiative is to encourage employers to hire employees with disability and support them throughout their employment. This approach includes financial and non-financial measures and aims to integrate individuals with disability into society, helping them become active contributors to the Maltese Economy.

  • Transition and Retention Support: Assists in easing the transition and retention of persons with disability in employment. 

  • N.I.C. Exemption: Employers who are not benefitting from the A2E scheme may be exempted from paying their part of the national insurance contribution for their employees with disability. 

  • Opportunities for Employees with Disabilities: Enables employees with disabilities to integrate into open employment, showcasing their capabilities and enthusiasm to become valued members of the workforce.
